Technical Ministries Team

Thank you for your interest in the Technical Ministries Team!

Here you will find brief descriptions the areas where you can become a ministry partner and a way to make your interests known.
Should you have question or need further information, please fill in your contact information and use the space provided.

What is the Technical Ministries Team?

Formerly known as the A/V Committee, our purpose is to provide support
in the areas of audio reinforcement, video presention and lighting for the
ministries of CUMC.  Though in our infancy, this area is expanding in
use at CUMC and we are seeking to involve those of common interest
       regardless of past experience.

Will this take a lot of time?

By expanding the number of persons involved, we are attempting to keep
your time committment within reason.  While initial training may take some time,
we hope, you will have responsibilities once or twice a month.
We do not want anyone to become so wrapped up in this that
all time for worship and study is lost!

What are the ways in which I may be involved in the 9:00 service?

Here is our current list of areas on which we are concentrating.  Please check
those which interest you. Remember, experience is always helpful, but
       never a prerequisite.

Audio Set-up:    These persons will meet Saturday (or Sunday morning,
depending upon Randolph Hall availablility) to set up audio and band
equipment and checking its operation.  It takes 2-3 people about
                   30-45 minutes.
Video Creation:    This is currently a one person per week opportunity
and usually requires 2-3 hours on Thursday - Saturday to create
PowerPoint material and load lyrics for sings into the program
EasyWorship on the CUMC laptop.  Input for this comes from Pastor
                   and other staff members.
Video Operations:    One or two persons are required at each service to
set-up and operate the video system.  You will need to arrive at 8:00
to set-up and coordinate with the Worship Team.
Audio Operations:   Live sound reinforcement and prerecorded playback
during the service are the primary responsibilities.  Again, arrival at 8:00
of one or two persons to set levels and coordinate with Pastor and staff
                   should be sufficient.
Post-Service Strike:    Hopefully many per will assist so that the time
may be reduced to 15 minutes between the service and education events
at 10:00.  This is a good opportunity to begin your learning about the
                   equipment used in the service.

What are the ways in which I may be involved in the 10:00 service?

There are two areas at the moment.

Audio Operations:    Live sound reinforcement, playback and audio feed
for video taping are the duties.  Arrival at 9:30 is usually sufficient and
                   set-up requirements are minimal.
Video Recording:    Our service is currently recorded for broadcast on the
local access Channel 35 on a one week delay each SUnday at 10:00 am
and 5:00 pm.  Your responsibility is to set-up and record the service.
